ILP CW2 Specifications (Essay)
10.10.2023
This essay for CW2 assumes that you already implemented (or are close to finalizing) the CW2 programming task.
Your task is now to create an essay where you reflect on two topics:
-
Your experience implementing the requirements either defined in CW1 or
additional ones discovered later during implementation for the PizzaDronz app. This is supposed to be a classical “Lessons Learned” phase most projects have and is
usually used to reflect on what was easy, good, hard and worth improving1.
When discussing this – especially when considering alternative approaches (for instance when you feel that another implementation would have been better) – referencing is a good vehicle to showcase things.
Focus on:
o Where did requirements change, why and how?
o How did you implement requirements?
o What was considerably hard and what needs improvementUse 500 – 750 words max to describe your thoughts on this
-
Imagine you would have to design the PizzaDronz client-facing part as a mobile app. What should this consider, which characteristics and requirements would it have? Architecture?
This is a very open question leaving you room for being entirely creative. The outcome is supposed to be an essay. Use diagrams, drawings, charts, references as you see fit.
You could focus on the usage, the internal architecture, the interaction with a central system, etc. (it is up to you). Explain why you chose which scenario and make assumptions to limit the focus accordingly.
To make your life easier, you should pick one area of the above mentioned (or a different one) - do not (except you really want to) write about the whole system.
If you reason about something, give references, if possible.
1 In most projects this is done after major sections finish, or at the real end of a project.
Use max. 1,000 words to describe your thoughts
The main goal is to have a very readable document (containing both parts) which covers the areas mentioned in a clear, precise manner and does not leave too much room for interpretation. You will not be required to cover all areas yet should focus on the most important ones and prove your understanding and grasp of task at hand.
For the marking the marking schema as defined in section “Assessment and Feedback Information”2 will be applied plus additional marks for the individual items.
This essay has a maximum mark of 100 points, which will be applied to the corresponding marking for the CW1 essay (1/3 of 75 points = 25 points).
Out of this topic 1 will have 40 / 100 points; topic 2 60 / 100 points.
